EXPRESSIONS OF NATURE
THRU THE ART OF
PHOTOGRAPHY

Common Loon on a nest.
Loon on nest, Algonquin Provincial Park

I first became interested in photography back in high school in the late 70's. I took pictures for the year book and was active in the photography club. From there I found it very exciting to go out in nature and photograph the flora and fauna of my local parks and woodlots. I then rediscovered a Provincial Park I had enjoyed as a child, Algonquin Park. I spend as much time as possible there, it's very evident by the pictures in these web pages. There is something about the air in the north that just keeps you going back. Having had no formal training in photography, it's best to spend as much time out in the field taking pictures as you can. Therefore I try to get out as much as possible. The more photographs and mistakes you can make the better, for it is that trial and error approach that seem to work best for me. I chose Nature and Wildlife photography because of the challenge it presents in trying to get that perfect picture. I still feel that I can improve as a photographer and a person so it is an ongoing challenge. It may take a lifetime but it's something worth pursuing. I have taken all of my photographs in Ontario, Canada, mostly in Algonquin Park and around my hometown of London, Ontario.

Enjoy the pictures on this web site and if you have any comments or questions please feel free to email me. I will gladly respond.
